Reports have reached Gambiano.Net that President Adama Barrow will embark on his first official state visit to Gambia’s No. 1 friend which is none other than neighboring Senegal. He will be hosted in the capital Dakar by President Macky Sall.

President barrow’s entourage will consist of some high level delegation who will depart The Gambian capital Banjul in the early hours of Thursday, March 2nd 2017. He will fly in a Senegalese provided air craft with his delegation in company.

President Barrow had promised in his previous remarks that the first country he will travel to on a state visits for diplomatic reasons will be Senegal. This is to be expected as Senegal’s President Macky Sall’s first state visit when he became president was to the Gambia some years ago when he visited then leader ex-president Yahya Jammeh. That visit turned out to be unfruitful diplomatically. The two presidents never “hit it off”

The Barrow trip comes at time time when the relationship between the Gambia and Senegal had never been stronger and mutual as it it today. The two presidents are hoping to build on the current momentum to accomplish many aspiring benefits economically and security wise.
