Gambia’s interior minister Mai Fatty has publicly apologized to a Foroyaa journalist Kebba Jeffang who was attacked by his party supporters last Sunday.
Jeffang was attacked by supporters of the UDP, GMC and NRP at a recent press conference organized by the parties to clarify their positions on the coalition’s approach to contesting the coming National Assembly elections.
The public apology happened following a closed door meeting with the executive members of the Gambia Press Union.
Mai came under huge criticisms on social media sites after he was caught on camera calling Jeffang a “PDOIS militant”, a comment many described as “irresponsible”.
