The Director of the Gambia National Intelligence Yankuba Badjie is relief from his duties less than 48 hours after the name NIA was change to SIS. Mr Badjie who was appointed by former president Yahya Jammeh is not a fan favorite in the country after been accused of taking part in many evil acts for president Jammeh ranging from arrest, tortures, disappearances and killings in the country.

The new government of President Adama Barrow has renamed the agency to State Intelligence Agency yesterday and announced that it is no more authorized to arrest, detain or torture anyone but conduct intelligence services for the nation.

Musa Dibba has been appointed as the new director of the agency with effect from Wednesday, February 22nd.
