“The Gambia will always be side by side with Turkey,” said Mamadou Tangara, the Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Tangara and his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, hosted a joint press conference on Thursday after a bilateral meeting at the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara.

In his address, Tangara said that the human potential of his country is the most important of all, emphasizing that all the steps taken to this end are very valuable.

“If you want to make progress in terms of development and security, you must first establish peace and serenity,” he said, highlighting Turkey’s contributions to the security of The Gambia for a long time.

Tangara said that countries conducting multilateral work around the world are subject to attack. “The Gambia will always be on the side of Turkey,” he said.

The Gambian minister said: “You are showing strong cooperation with Africa and we are very grateful to you for that.”

Finally, Tangara called on Turkish businessmen and private sector representatives to invest in the Gambia for the development of economic relations.

“The investments of businessmen from Turkey will be very valuable to us, and we are working to create a favorable climate for investors,” he concluded.
