Leader of the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) party, Mama Kandeh has today pledged to sponsor the construction of 25 boreholes for various villages in Jokadou Constituency, North Bank Region (NBR). He equally made the same promise to sponsor the construction of 3 boreholes for Bansang Town in the Central River Region.
Kandeh made these pledges during his nationwide tour, purposely meant to support all GDC candidates for the April 6, Parliamentary elections.
As part of activities marking his nationwide tour, Kandeh also donated over 200 bags of cement to Fass Chakho and Drammeh Jokadou villages, both in the Jokadou Constituency, NBR.
The said cement donation, is meant for the rehabilitation of the village mosques.
Women from the said two villages (Fass Chakho and Drammeh Jokadou) were also donated 5 milling machines by the GDC leader.
Confirming this gesture, MC Cham Jnr, the GDC candidate for Jeshwang constituency, said Mama Kandeh made this donation to show his appreciation of the huge support rendered to him by the people of Jokadou and indeed all other supporters of his party since its establishment.
According to MC Cham Jnr, Mama Kandeh has also donated D50, 000 to Armitage Senior Secondary School in Janjangbureh and D100, 000 to Bansang Hospital during his ongoing tour.
It would be recalled that Mama Kandeh registered the highest total number of votes cast for the presidential candidates in Jokadou, Niamina West and Jimara Constituencies during the recently held December 1st, 2016 Presidential election in The Gambia.
